Kavish Jawahar is a science education specialist with particular interests in curriculum, discourse, and access to science. His research, publications, and postgraduate supervision draw on frameworks such as Systemic Functional Linguistics, Legitimation Code Theory, the Concerns-Based Adoption Model, and theories of professional development to examine how knowledge is structured, taught, and made accessible in diverse educational contexts. More recently, he serves as a project leader for Seeds of Transformation, a national initiative focused on identifying and advancing grounded innovation in Foundation Phase schooling and teacher education, with an emphasis on systems learning and educational transformation.
